Go,Go, Green !!!
St. Joseph’s School
celebrated the International Day of Biosphere Reserves on Wednesday, December
3, 2025, with the theme “Fight
for the Environment”. The event was marked by great zeal and creative presentations.
The day's assembly was
conducted by Class 5 Lily, on the topic 'Fight for the Environment'. The
assembly was anchored by Shambhavi Tiwari, while the school prayer was led by
Samank Ishu, followed by the Saint Joseph's Prayer by Aaradhya Singh. Instead
of the national pledge, the entire school took an environmental pledge, which
was led by Utkrisit Singh. The Thought of the Day was delivered by Arihant
Yadav, and the significance of December 3rd was explained by Akshansh
Chaudhary.
The next segment was a poem
on the environment, “We Are Green Champions,” which
the children recited with actions. This was followed by a Hindi song, “Chalo
Milkar Lete Hain Yeh Qasam,” in which Samriddhi Singh performed a
Kathak dance, while other children sang with accompanying actions. The
participants in both presentations were Samriddhi Singh, Sanskriti Shukla,
Saras Sharma, Satvik Tiwari, Shambhavi Tiwari, Siddharth Bhatt, and Gurmat Singh
Saluja.
The school principal, Rev.
Fr. Melwin Wilson D’Souza, praised the efforts of the young students, who
presented the assembly full of bright colors and beautiful props. In his
speech, he expressed his serious concern about the deteriorating environmental
conditions, quoting, “It took years to exist and only a few decades to become
extinct.” He further urged everyone to be the change that Mother Earth needs
and emphasized the importance of stopping the use of plastics. "We
all must become champions in saving the environment and making Earth a greener
planet," he added.
As the school prepares for Unit 2 assessments
and Prelims, the principal Rev. Fr. Melwin Wilson D’Souza, wished everyone
'Good Luck' and requested that all students ought to use paper and other energy
resources wisely. He emphasized that when we bid our final goodbyes, we should
be content, knowing that we have contributed to a sustainable future for
generations to come.
