: St. Joseph’s School, Naini, enthusiastically celebrated the 79th Independence Day on Friday, August 15, 2025, with great fervour and patriotic zeal. The school campus was filled with vibrant colours, stirring patriotic songs and dances, joyful faces, and a shared sense of pride in being Indian.With patriotism resonating in every corner of the school, the celebration began with the hoisting of the Indian Tricolour, followed by the National Anthem. The school then warmly welcomed the esteemed Chief Guest, Rev. Fr. Leo Sequeira, Guest of Honour, Mr. Sumant Srivastava, an ex Josephite and a renowned content and graphic creator, after a proud and disciplined March past by the School Cabinet and NCC cadets.The cultural programme commenced with a well-synchronized prayer dance, a beautifully executed pyramid formation, and a euphonious patriotic song. A charming thematic presentation by the students of LKG and UKG captured the hearts of the audience.The Principal, Rev. Fr. Melwin D'Souza, delivered a solemn and heartfelt speech paying homage to the brave martyrs of our nation.A scintillating musical stage performance depicting the life of martyr Bhagat Singh followed, along with an eloquent Hindi poetry recitation that echoed the spirit of freedom and sacrifice.On this special occasion, the SJS family proudly felicitated our budding athletic star, Yuvraj Singh (Class 7E), for securing a silver medal in 100 metres and gold in long jump at the CBSE Cluster (UP East) and qualifying for the Nationals.The Chief Guest, Rev. Fr. Leo Sequeira, captivated everyone with a thought-provoking speech that conveyed the true meaning of freedom. He emphasised humanism and pluralism and offered a powerful message on standing up for humanity.To add to the day’s significance, a team of volunteers from Prayagraj Nagar Nigam, led by Mr. Shanti Swaroop, visited the school to spread awareness among students and staff about cleanliness and effective garbage management.Overall, the day served as a poignant reminder of the sacrifices, struggles, and determination of our freedom fighters and martyrs.And I quote: “Sare Jahan Se Achcha, Hindostan Hamara – Hum Bulbulein Hain Iske, Ye Gulistan Hamara.” JAI HIND! St. Joseph’s School, Naini, hosted this thrilling competition on Wednesday, August 13, 2025. The event, based on physical fitness and stability in pyramid formation, left a lasting impression of healthy collaboration among the students. In the Girls’ category, the first position was secured by Blue House, while Red House took the second position. Green House and Yellow House bagged the third and fourth positions, respectively. In the Boys’ category, Red House claimed the winning position, followed by a tie between Blue House and Yellow House for the second position. Green House stood third in the competition. It was an event that truly fostered a sense of patriotism, unity, and school spirit.

Under the vigilant guidance of the Principal, Rev. Fr. Melwin Wilson Dsouza, and the careful supervision of Sr. Tracy, with the assistance of Ms. Priyanka (ANM), the students received the vaccination aimed at strengthening immunity. WORD MAZE & COLLAGE MAKING ACTIVITY (KG SECTION)

: ‘Word Maze Activity’ was conducted for the students of class UKG on Thursday, July 31st, 2025. The activity involved a printed sheet where each grid was labelled with a word. Students had to match the correct words from the help box to the given clues. This activity proved to be an interesting way for students to learn how to observe and memorize the concepts with attention. Students were also provided with another activity sheet along with clues. They had to recognize different vowel sounds (a, e, i, o, u) and colour the pictures according to the vowel provided. To enhance the holistic growth and creativity of the students, St. Joseph’s School, Naini organized a Collage Making Activity for the students of classes Nursery & LKG. Our little ones showcased their creativity by pasting various cut-outs and making beautiful collages with colourful pictures. This activity helped them with conceptual thinking as well as fine motor skills.

Aarush Keshari (Head Boy) and Shatakshi Singh (Head Girl), along with senior and junior House Captains, Vice-Captains, and various other student leaders, were conferred with badges, sashes, and flags. The esteemed Chief Guest, while addressing the assembly, congratulated everyone present and guided the new council to be role models and to fulfill their responsibilities sincerely, as they are the bona fide builders of tomorrow.Principal of SJS Naini, Rev. : On the solemn occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas, the NCC cadets of 6 UP Girls' BN PRJ & 1 UP Naval Unit PRJ actively participated in the commemorative activities conducted in the school. A drawing competition was organized to honour the spirit of patriotism and bravery demonstrated during the Kargil War. The cadets beautifully portrayed themes inspired by the courage and sacrifices of our Indian soldiers. In addition to this, a sapling was planted as a symbol of peace and growth, reinforcing our commitment to a greener and stronger nation. The event was graced by the presence of Sister Tracy, A.N.O. T/O Akanksha Tiwari, and CTO Abhishek Mishra, whose presence greatly encouraged the cadets. Mrs Aiman Fatima took the responsibility of evaluating the drawings and selecting the best artwork. The day concluded with a deep sense of respect and patriotism among all present, paying tribute to the heroes of Kargil.

: "The best way to predict the future is to create it" and leadership is the capacity to translate vision into reality.” On July 23, 2025, at St. Joseph's School, Naini, an Orientation Programme for the newly elected student council for session 2025- 26 was scheduled by the Principal Rev. Fr. Melwin Wilson D'souza, before they were conferred with the badges and set responsibilities. During the interaction, certain points were laid and were discussed such as; the core values and school ethics, the vision and mission of our school. The core values like Discipline, Selfless Services, Willingness and to be a positive team leader. Later, the Principal also mentioned the role of a Head boy and Head girl and the various responsibilities that the respective House captains and other office bearers are enrolled in. Furthermore, in order to connect more with the students, he also mentioned his own life experiences that made the new student cabinet realise, 'how a good listener is a winner always'. While the orientation session rolled out ahead, a sincere discussion on how to handle conflicts and remain unbiased, how to manage time without hampering studies, always ready for positive approaches, celebrating victories as well as failures, discipline management was cropped up. The newly elected council members were also advised to on how to properly plan, execute on time and to acknowledge all and oneself. The Principal Rev. Fr. Melwin Wilson D'Souza, also suggested a SMART way of dealing school pressure. S- be specific M- be measurable A - achievable R - relevant T - time-bound He also emphasised on 'self reward' by letting negative feelings go and embracing the change. He further took inspirational stories of three world leaders who are pioneer in their missions. Dr. A.P.J. Kalam, for being an exemplary in constant hard work, despite failures. Malala Yousafzai, a lady who became a synonym of women empowerment. Mother Teresa, a name that needs no introduction to the world and has an amalgamation of motherhood and leadership. As the program headed towards the wind-up, the significance of badges, sash and oath was reviewed. Badges - a significance of Trust and Leadership. Sash - a proud wrap of responsibilities, honour, a guide to others. Oath - a pledge of services, discipline, integrity, excellence and self improvement. The final reflection - How their leadership legacy should be ! The split- second acknowledgement was that 'what change you will leave after you have left?' With this conundrum the interaction with tomorrow's leaders was concluded and the Principal greeted them with all luck and best wishes for their new journey as an authoritative heads.

: Shades of yellow stimulates happiness, energy and optimism. Pre-primary wing of St. Joseph’s School, Naini celebrated “Yellow Day” on 19th July 2025. A day dedicated to the yellow colour was marked with children dressed in different hues and tints of yellow. Children were not only beautifully dressed in their favourite yellow dresses but also brought yellow objects to make it a complete “Yellow Day”. Different activities were organized in different classes of KG section. Everyone enjoyed doing lovely creative yellow colour craft activities. One of the section of UKG prepared lemonade, while Nursery students prepared badges for the Principal and teachers. Snack time was a delightful affair, featuring a variety of yellow treats like bananas, dhoklas, poha bringing smiles to everyone’s faces. Our Principal Rev. Fr. Melwin Wilson D’Souza visited every class of KG and appreciated the efforts. Overall Yellow Day was a joyous event.

: A warm farewell ceremony was held for our former principal, Rev. Fr. Joseph Sagayanathan at St. Joseph's School, Naini. The program began with NCC students escorting the Principal, Rev. Fr. Melwin Wilson D'souza and Rev. Fr. Joseph Sagayanathan to the venue. He was welcomed with a bouquet presented by Principal followed by a prayer and lighting of the lamp. A prayer dance trained by Doris Ma’am set a graceful tone, followed by words of appreciation from Akanksha. The school choir, guided by Saurabh Sir, presented a heartfelt performance. Rev. Father Melwin addressed the gathering with touching words. He also felicitated Rev. Fr. Joseph with a shawl, a memento, and a gift as a token of gratitude. An emotional dance, choreographed by Neha Ma’am, was presented by students. Rev. Father Joseph then shared his farewell message. The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks and the National Anthem.

Drawing inspiration from contemporary research in positive psychology and the evolving needs of today’s learners, Fr. Melwin invited the staff to reflect on the deeper meaning of happiness—not just as a fleeting emotion, but as a way of being that can be cultivated in the classroom. The session began with thought-provoking quotes from global thinkers and moved into a nuanced exploration of the “Happiness Continuum,” spanning contentment with the past, joy in the present, and optimism for the future. A significant highlight of the orientation was the “Gratitude Jar – Seeds of Happiness” activity. In this reflective exercise, teachers penned down personal notes of gratitude, shared their thoughts with colleagues, and rediscovered the uplifting power of thankfulness. This collective moment of introspection set the tone for the rest of the session, reminding all that gratitude is not only therapeutic but also foundational to a compassionate classroom environment. Fr. Melwin emphasized the essential dimensions of a happy classroom, which include the teacher’s emotional intelligence, the quality of teacher-student relationships, progressive pedagogical strategies, and effective classroom management. Teachers were encouraged to reflect on how empathy, understanding, and strategic intervention by the educator brought about a complete shift in student behavior and engagement.
