St. Joseph’s school, Naini, Allahabad , organized the Van Mahotsav program on Saturday, the 21st of July with great zeal and massive awareness. This year, class IVth students were held responsible for conducting the program under the guidance of the teachers.
The program started with the welcoming speech after which was a student’s speech in which it was told about all the favours that have been done to us by the trees. It was followed by a great musical performance, presented by some melodious voices. A well- prepared skit was presented by the kids based on the famous story of “ The giving tree”. There was also a joyful dance performance which conveyed that it is not just about saving trees but everything that is part of the nature.
As we moved towards the end, a short message was conveyed by the teacher which said that we should be taking care of the trees everyday until we perish and not just on 21st July for a formality.
The program ended with the vote of thanks and the Principal’s speech whose message conveyed that we should not kill the trees as it is equal to killing us.
At the end, the students along with the teachers, Vice Principal Sr. Annette, Principal Rev. Fr. Jacob Bona D’souza, had a tree planting drive which had a great impact on the souls of the children.
